YW-MED wants to make youth work across the Mediterranean better and more inclusive, especially for LGBTQIA+ young people taking part in Erasmus+ youth exchanges. In many parts of the region, defending LGBTQIA+ rights is still a challenge, and youth workers don’t always have the tools to make every participant feel safe and welcome. That’s what this project is about: supporting 24 youth workers as they develop practical tools for their work and build a network that connects the whole Mediterranean.

Implementation:
The project includes two mobility activities where the 24 youth workers come together and work using participatory design, meaning the tools are created by the people who will actually use them.
Along the way, they’ll carry out research, both desk-based and in the field, to find out how youth associations in the partner countries are approaching the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ young people.
To close the project, we’ll launch the Youth Workers in the Mediterranean Network, an online space to share ideas, stay connected and keep working together.

Activities
YW-MED kicks off in Amman, Jordan
On February 5, 2025, Amman, Jordan, became the vibrant backdrop for the official Kick-Off Meeting of the project.
Workshop for YW in Tirana
From May 21st to 25th, 2025, Tirana lit up with the energy of youth, creativity, and collective purpose! In the heart of Albania’s capital, 24 passionate youth workers from Italy, Greece, Spain, Jordan, Turkey, Malta, and Albania gathered for an unforgettable international workshop hosted by OMSA Albania.
Workshop for YW in Rome
The goal of this survey is to better understand the knowledge, experience, willingness, challenges, and training needs of youth workers in relation to inclusion. The insights gathered will help shape tailored educational tools, develop inclusive strategies, and build an international network of youth workers committed to LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion.

From November 21st to 23th (2025) 24 youth workers attended the second workshop in Rome, Italy.
On March 4th 2026 part of Euro Mirada's Team hold a dissemination event in Cologne, Germany, to share the project's results and work on a follow up for future initiatives.
